RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RECONFIRMING THE
GENERAL PLAN RECREATION ELEMENT PARK DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND
CONFIRMING THE CITY COMMITMENT TO SPECIFIC PARK PROJECTS
WHEREAS, The City of San Rafael adopted the San Rafael General Plan 2000
in 1987, and
WHEREAS, the General Plan 2000 includes the Recreation Element which
outlines goals, policies and implementation programs for development of active
use public park facilities city wide, and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Element identifies city wide recreation issues:
city wide recreational needs and deficiencies; neighborhood recreational needs and
deficiencies; the importance of surplus school sites in providing recreational sites;
and, funding of park and recreation facilities, and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Element lists specific sites and facility
recommendations for new park development and rehabilitation of existing sites by
neighborhood, and
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission has reviewed the
Recreation Element Goals and they recommend the City Council reaffirm the
commitment of the General Plan Specific Recommendations to city wide park
development as outlined in the Project List Development Schedule attached as
Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael does hereby reconfirm the General Plan Recreation Element Park
Development Goals and reaffirm the City's commitment of funds from the
Subdivision Park Trust Fund to specific park projects.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 19 th
day of JUNE , 1995, by the following vote, to wit:
