A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, AUTHORIZING
PARTICIPATION IN THE CALIFORNIA
COUNTER -DRUG PROCUREMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of California, through the Office of Criminal Justice Planning, is participating in
the Federal Department of Defense Procurement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Federal program is designed to provide equipment assistance to qualified local police
departments that are engaged in counter -drug enforcement activities; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Police Department has historically, and is currently, engaged in counter -
drug enforcement activities through participation in the Marin County Narcotics Task
Force, staffing the Street Crimes Unit which has a top priority of counter -drug efforts, and
general and specific Patrol Bureau counter -drug efforts; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael will benefit from reduced costs for needed counter -drug equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
The City Council authorizes the City Manager, through the Chief of Police, to request and receive needed
excess property and new GSA property to combat illegal controlled substance enforcement in the City of
San Rafael.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said city, held on
Monday the nineteenth day of June, 1995, by the following vote, to wit:
