A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
DECLARING THE ELECTIVE OFFICE OF COUNCILMEMBER
OF SAN RAFAEL
VACANT EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 1995
WHEREAS, Councilmember Joan Thayer was elected on November
5, 1991, to a four-year term as a Councilmember, said term ending
in November of 1995; and
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1994, Councilmember Thayer was
elected to the office of Assessor of Marin County effective
January 3, 1995; and
WHEREAS, on December 18, 1994, Councilmember Thayer submitted
to the City Council a letter of resignation effective January
3, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Charter, at Article 63. Section
7, provides that the elective office of Councilmember becomes
vacant upon the resignation of an incumbent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council declares the elective office of Councilmember vacant
as of January 3, 1995, due to the resignation of Councilmember
Joan Thayer.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held on Tuesday, the third day of
January, 1995, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller and Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Zappetini
