RESOLUTION NO. 9268
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods
WHEREAS, the Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods is an umbrella organizatlon for neighborhood and
homeowner organizations In central San Rafael; and,
WHEREAS, the Federation has been involved as an active partner in the implementation of Our Vision for San
Rafael as demonstrated by participation in the Downtown Advisor Group and the Downtown
Vision Committee, by Its donations to the Rafael Film Center and the Falkirk Cultural Center, and
by its initiation of a partnership with the City of the Graffiti Abatement Program; and
WHEREAS, on October 22, 1994 Federation members Linda Bellatorre, Katie Koraun, Cyr Miller, Tom Obletz
and Steve Patterson participated in the "B" Street Tree Planting by paying for one of the five trees
and joining in on a day -long effort to plant five new street trees; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Advisor Group decided to hold a Community Workshop on November 14,1994 to
introduce its proposed General Plan amendments and zoning work, and to provide an opportunity for
other groups to present information on their activities; and
WHEREAS, the Federation, under the leadership of Tom Obletz and Ralph Crocker, volunteered to be a co-
sponsor for the Community Workshop and generously assisted with meeting planning, publicity,
and prize solicitation; willingly staffed the welcome and refreshment tables; and graciously
provided a master of ceremonies to welcome everyone and to award the door prizes; and
WHEREAS, the Federation made a major financial contribution toward providing food for the occasion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael, on behalf of
all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Federation of San Rafael
Neighborhoods for its contribution to Downtown San Rafael and the community's efforts to
Implement Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
