RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF
$20,000 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED RESERVES FOR
EMERGENCY ROOF REPAIRS AT THE CORPORATION
YARD
WHEREAS, maintenance buildings at the Corporation Yard were
constructed in 1972; and
WHEREAS, in the past few years, more and more staff time has
been spent trying to seal and protect those areas of the metal roof that have
leaked; and
WHEREAS, a recent inspection of the roof revealed that the
longitudinal flashing had rusted through and was in need of replacement or
extensive repair; and
WHEREAS, staff, after researching this matter, has determined
that the application of a flexible asphaltic membrane to all roofing areas is the
only really effective way to prevent further roof leakage; and
WHEREAS, due to the existing condition of the building roofs,
welding equipment and various electrical tools can not be operated while it is
raining.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of San Rafael that the sum of $20,000. is authorized to conduct
emergency roof repairs at the Corporation Yard. Said sum is to be derived from
the City's unappropriated reserves.
I, JEANNE. M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 19th day
of December, 1994, by the following vote, to wit:
