WHEREAS, the San 9ZOfael General Plan calfs for a St. Vincent's/Silveira Advisory Committee to
provide specific recommendations for the future of the St. Vincent's and Silveira properties; and
WHEREAS, in March, 1991, the San 9�qfaef City Council appointed a 25 member joint City -
County committee to represent the many groups interested in these properties; and
WHEREAS, Sue Beittef was appointed to represent the League of Women Voters; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with studying site constraints and opportunities and
coming up with consensus recommendations for the future of the property; and
WHEREAS, for more than three years and 37 meetings, Sue selflessly devoted many hours of time
fearning about and evaluating site constraints and resources; developing a program for and holding a
successfid, nationwide Land Use Competition to explore land use alternatives for the properties; and
working with members to draft the St. Vincent's/Silveira land use recommendations; and
WHEREAS, Sue personally contributed many additional hours informing groups of progress
being made, and of Plan recommendations, and bringing back comments to the Advisory Committee;
and
W H E R EAS, Sue also greatly assisted the Committees work by taking on the task, of staffing the
Land Use Competition with volunteers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San 9�qfael hereby commends and express its sincere appreciation to you for your assistance in
drafting the Advisory Committees St. Vincent's/Silveira General Plan Amendment proposal.
