WHEREAS, the San 9�qfaef Generat Plan caQs for a St. Vtncent' lSilveira :Advisory Committee to
provide specific recommendations for the future of the St. 'Vincents and Silveira properties; and
W H E R EAS, in March, 1991, the San Nfffaet City Council appointed a 25 member joint City -
County committee to represent the many groups interested in these properties; and
WHEREAS, Tieresa CoX was appointed to represent the United Montecito Npighborhoods
Association; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with studying site constraints and opportunities and
coming up with consensus recommendations for the future of the property; and
WHEREAS, for more than three years and 37 meetings, ?heresa seylissfy devoted many hours of
time learning about and evaluating site constraints and resources; developing a program for and
hong a successful, nationwide Land Use Competition to explore land use alternatives for the
properties; and working with members to draft the St. 'Vincents/Sifveira land use recommendations;
and
WHEREAS, 9fieresa personally contributed many addiitional hours informing groups of progress
being made, and bringing back comments to the Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, ?heresa also assisted the Committees work, by presenting the Committees proposaf
at two Community 'Workshops and other meetings.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Ufaef hereby commends and express its sincere appreciation to you for your assistance in
drafting the Advisory Committee's St. 1VtncentVSi1veira General Plan Amendment proposal.
