MARY MURTAGH
WHEREAS, the San Rq/4d General Plan cafls for a St. Vtncent' lSifveira Advisory Committee to
provide specific recommendations for the future of the St. Vincent's and Silveira properties; and
W H E R E A S, in March, 1991, the San Rafael City Council appointed a 25 member joint City -
County committee to represent the many groups interested in these properties; and
WHEREAS, Mary Murtagh was appointed to represent the Ecumenical Association for
Housing; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with studying site constraints and opportunities and
coming up with consensus recommendations for the future of the property; and
WHEREAS, for more than three years and 3i meetings, Mary seoZfssfy devoted many hours of
time fearning about and evaluating site constraints and resources; developing a program for and
ho0ng a successful, nationwide Land Use Competition to explore (and use alternatives for the
properties; and working with members to draft the St. 'Vincent's/Sifveira land use recommendations;
and
WHEREAS, Mary personally contributed many additional hours providing housing needs
information, informing groups of progress being made, and bringing back, comments to the Advisory
Committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby commends and eVress its sincere appreciation to you for your assistance in
drafting the Advisory Committee's St. 'Vincent's/SdVeim General Plan Amendment proposal.
