WHEREAS, the San Rafael General Plan calfs for a St. Vincent's/Silveira ?advisory Committee to
provide specif rc recommendations for the future of the St. Vincent's and Silveira properties; and
WHEREAS, in March, 1991, the San Rgfaef City Council appointed a 25 member joint City -
County committee to represent the many groups interested in these properties; and
WHEREAS, Ailene Taylor was appointed to represent the San Rofaef 9fousing Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with studying site constraints and opportunities and
coming up with consensus recommendations for the future of the property; and
WHEREAS, for more than three years and 37 meetings, Ailene seofkssfy devoted many hours of
time learning about and evaluating site constraints and resources; developing a program for and
holding a successful; nationwide Land Use Competition to explore land use alternatives for the
properties; and working with members to draft the St. Vincent's/Silveira and use recommendations;
and
WHEREAS, Ailene personaffy contributed many addittionaf hours volunteering during the
Competition, informing groups of progress being made, and bringing back comments to the Advisory
Committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rgfaef hereby commends and express its sincere appreciation to you for your assistance in
drafting the Advisory Committee's St. Vincent's/Silveira General Plan Amendment proposal.
