CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF IIPPRECIdTION
TO
BOB ROUMIGUIERE
WHEREAS, Bob Roumiguiere is retiring from the office of County Supervisor after 22 years of
dedication and hard work, and
WHEREAS, Bob has represented a district which includes a .significant part of the City of San
Rafael and adjacent unincorporated areas; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Roumiguiere managed to balance the issues of the County as a whole while
specifically supporting numerous projects beneficial to our community, such as
(1) he was instrumental in assisting the City with. the expansion of its Paramedic
Program to the unincorporated area .surrounding San Rafael in 1979;
(2) he helped establish County Service Area 19 to assure residents of the unincorporated
area of San Rafael received excellent fire protection;
(3) he spearheaded the acquisition of State and Federal fiords . for significant highway
and transportation improvement projects;
(4) he took a leadership role in working with the City of San Rafael in creating and
carrying out the Redevelopment Agency and its prgiects;
(5) he took a leadership role in creating and establishing significant areas of open
space particularly in the San Rafael area; and
WHEREAS, he has diligently represented his constituency, becoming well known for his "Rug
Room" meetings bringing parties together to find creative solutions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael thanks
Supervisor Bob Roumiguiere for his exemplary service and sincere commitment which have directly
benefitted San Rafael residents and wishes him success in all.future endeavors.
