CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
ROLLIE STANALAW
WHEREAS. Rollie has consistently demonstrated a dedicated, creative and Innovative
approach to her work, since being employed as the Children's Llbrarian in .lune,
1967: and
WHEREAS. Hollle's flexibility, cheerfulness and listening skills are highly valued and
appreciated by co-workers and library patrons: and
WHEREAS. Hollie's vast kno wledge of children's literature coupled with her uncanny ability
to recommend lust the right book to each child has played a malor role !n almost
doubling the number of books checked out of the Library's Children's Room: and
WHEREAS. Hollle's story times for children, which are liberally enhanced by her handmade
Puppets, papler mache animals and other props, are enormously popular with
children and parents, alike: and
WHEREAS Rollie has single-handedly developed a strong outreach program to the San
Rafael elementary schools, with a goal of visiting every public elementary
classroom each year, Introducing countless children to the Joys of reading.
NOW, THEREFORE, BEITRESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby designate Rollie Stanaland as the Employee of the Year for 19931n appreciation
of her dedication and outstanding service to the City of San Rafael and the community.
