WHEnAS, 9foffie has been employed in the Library as the Children's Librarian since 5une 15,
1987, with a short break in service between September, 1991 and 9uly, 199Z- and
WHEnAS, Hoffie is an expert in chifdren's literature, with an uncanny ability to recommend just
the right boob, to a chi(4 which has greatly contributed to aGnost doubling the number
of books checked out of the Chifdren's Room; since she joined the staff, and
WHEnAS, Hoffre spends a considerable amount of her own time making puppets, papier mache
animals, and other props; attending workshops on story telling; reading and reviewing
new chifdren's books to ensure the success of the Library's children's programs; and
WHEI'VEAS, Hoflie has singfe-handedfy developed a strong outreach program to the San Rafael
elementary schools, introducing countfess children to the joys of reading; and
WHUMAS, 9foffie's ffexibifity, cheerfulness and listening skiffs ane much appreciated by her co-
workers and are instrumental in her effectiveness in representing the Library as a union
representative.
NOW, THEIM509M BE IT 9MSOLV ED that the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby designate 9fo![ie Stanaland as the Employee of the Quarter for the period
ending on December 31, 1993 and express sincere appreciation to Xoffie for her dedication and
outstanding service to the City of San Rafael and the community.
