A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF A SEVEN PASSENGER CHEVROLET MINI -VAN FROM SONNEN MOTORS UTILIZING
"CANAL NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME PREVENTION GRANT" FUNDS (IN AMOUNT OF $17,583.64)
WHEREAS, previously, the San Rafael Police Department was
successful in obtaining a "Canal Neighborhood Crime Prevention Grant" from
the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said grant is in the amount of $99,384; eighty percent of
which will be funded by the state and twenty percent by the city's drug asset
seizure funds; and
WHEREAS, said police department has received approval to purchase
a minivan for the Canal Neighborhood Crime Prevention Program using said
grant funds; and
WHEREAS, specifications were drawn and bids solicited for said
minivan; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and opened on October 26, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the bid of Sonnen Motors of San Rafael, CA was the lowest
responsible bid received; and
WHEREAS, it is staff's recommendation that the bid of Sonnen Motors
be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City Council that
staff is hereby authorized to purchase a new 1994 seven passenger Chevrolet
mini -van utilizing "Canal Neighborhood Crime Prevention Grant" funds for the
price of $17,583.64 as set forth in their bid dated October 26, 1993.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 1st
day of November, 1993, by the following vote, to wit:
