A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL WAIVING
THE PUBLIC BID AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN POLICE
VEHICLES FROM SOPP CHEVROLET, BELL, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City's equipment
replacement program, seven new police patrol vehicles are required;
and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County has requested and received
bids for police vehicles from vendors statewide; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for said bids have been
received by San Rafael Police Department staff; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid received by Los Angeles County
for said police vehicles was at a unit price of $12,653.38, plus
options and sales tax from Maurice J. Sopp and Son of Bell,
California; and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County satisfied competitive bidding
requirements; and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County requested bids based upon a
specification established through testing and evaluation, utilized
by local agencies, state-wide; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City
financially to purchase the above-mentioned seven police vehicles
from Sopp Chevrolet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council hereby authorizes staff to waive the public bid and to
purchase seven police patrol vehicles from Maurice J. Sopp and Son
Chevrolet for a total price of $102,517.77, as the lowest
responsible quote.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Monday, the 6th day of December, 1993, by the following
vote to wit:
