CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESUhUTION DF 11PPRECUITION
TO
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based, consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency appointed Bob Berry to serve as a member of the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Ra ael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Bob reflected the interests of property owners, investors, merchants and parking
lot users on the Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, Bob interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Downtown
Property Owners Group, and kept them informed of the progress made on the
Plan; and
WHEREAS, Bob provided sound business sense, an understanding of economic issues, a
willingness to attend numerous "Spinout " meetings, hours of effort throughout our
two years of work, and assisted tremendously in informing the community about
Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Bob Berry for his dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and future residents of San Rafael.
