CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF 11PPRECIRTION
WHEREAS,
TO
DIRCK BRINKERHOFF
the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency appointed Dirck Brinkerhoff to serve as a member
of the Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Ra ael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Dirck reflected the interests of long time residents, property owners, real estate
professionals, parents, cyclists and civic groups on the Downtown Community
Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
Dirck interacted with many of the Plait Sponsor groups, including the Association
of Realtors, Mission San Rafael Rotary and the San Rafael Chamber of
Commerce, and kept them informed of the progress made on the Plan; and
Dirck provided sound business sense, valuable contacts, bicycle route evaluation,
hours of effort throughout our two years of work and assisted tremendously in
informing the community about Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Dirck Brinkerhoff for his dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and future residents of San Rafael.
