CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DE 11PPRECIRTION
TO
FRED DIVINE
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the RedevelopmentAgency appointed Fred Divine to serve as a member of the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Fred reflected the interests of property owners, architects, builders, parents,
social service providers and civic groups on the Downtown Community Plan
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Fred interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Kiwanis,
Marin Builders Association, Marin County A 1 Taskforce, Sara Rafael Chamber of
Commerce and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and kept them informed of the
progress made on the Plan; and
WHEREAS, Fred provided a generous spirit, creative solutions, an understanding about the
development community, hours of effort throughout out- two years of work, and
assisted tremendously in informing the community about Our Vision for
Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Fred Divine for his dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and fitture residents of San Rafael.
