CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF dPPREEIRTION
WHEREAS,
TO
LAN KA UFMAN
the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to einbark on a collaborative, community based, consensus planning
effort to determine the fitture of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency appointed Lan Kaufman to serve as a member of the
Downtown Coininunity Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee met front 1991 to 1993 to forinulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Ra ael which reflects the &-earns and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Lan reflected the interests of East San Rafael neighborhood, parents and social
service providers on the Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, Lan interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Canal
Community Alliance, and kept them informed of the progress made on the Plan;
and
WHEREAS,
NOW,
Lan provided insightful suggestions, valuable contributions, hours of effort
throughout our two years of work, and assisted tremendously in informing the
corninunity about Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Lan Kaufman for her dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions she has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and fitture residents of San Rafael.
