CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF dPPRECIIITIGN
TO
JAMES SHINN
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based, consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS,
the Redevelopment Agency appointed James Shinn to serve as a member -of the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS,
the Committee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS,
James reflected the interests of outlying neighborhoods and new residents on the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS,
James interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the
neighborhood groups, and kept them informed of the progress made on the Plan;
a
WHEREAS,
James provided an appreciationfor the community amenities available in
downtowns throughout the world, consistent and thoughtful analysis, hours of
effort throughout our two years of work, and assisted tremendously in informing
the community about Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to James Shinn for his dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and fitture residents of San Rafael.
