PRESENTS THIS
RESOMITION OF dPPRECIdTION
TO
ERWIN WILLIAMS

WHEREAS, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based, consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency appointed Erwin Williams to serve as a member of
the Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Corninittee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Ra ael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Erwin reflected the interests of cultural interests, environmentalists, outlying
neighborhoods and independent business people on the Downtown Coninunity
Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, Erwin interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Marin
Conservation League, San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, North San Rafael
Coalition of Residents and the San Rafael Housing Co poration, and kept them
informed of the progress made on the Plan; and
WHEREAS, Erwin provided a multi faceted approach, constant support and enthusiasm, hours
of effort throughout our two years of work, and assisted tremendously in
informing the community about Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Erwin Williams for his dedicated and devoted service as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and future residents of San Rafael.
