CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
JA Y YINGER
WHEREAS,
the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS,
the Redevelopment Agency appointed Jay Yinger to serve as a member of the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS,
the Committee met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS,
Jay reflected the interests of outlying neighborhoods, independent business
people, restauranteurs, parents and historic preservationists on the Downtown
Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS,
Jay interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Business
Improvement District, Association of Realtors and the Builders Exchange, and
kept them informed of the progress made on the Plan; and
WHEREAS,
Jay provided determination to preserve the architectural integrity of San Rafael,
creative solutions, concern for others, hours of effort throughout our two years of
worlrti and assisted tremendously in informing the community about Our Vision for
Downtown San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Jay Yinger for his dedicated and devoted set -vice as a
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY PLAN COMMITTEE MEMBER and the
contributions he has made to creating a Vision for Downtown San Rafael which
will improve the quality of life for current and fixture residents of San Rafael.
