HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 8879 (Purchase Street Sweeper)RESOLUTION NO. 8879 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL WAIVING PUBLIC BID REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A USED WATER TRUCK AND STREET a ow ter t,,?. FROM RICKER MACHINERY COMPANY FOR $135,006.30 WHEREAS, in accordance with the City's equipment replacement program for this year, a water truck and street sweeper are scheduled for replacement; and WHEREAS, cost for said equipment, in light of the City's current financial situation, precludes the purchase of new equipment; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department, after a lengthy search of the Bay Area, located a refurbished water truck and used street sweeper owned by Ricker Machinery Company; and WHEREAS, said equipment meets department requirements as to age, condition, cost, etc; and WHEREAS, the City's and public's interest would be best served if the City purchased said equipment rather than tried to seek formal bids for their purchase; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney's office, after reviewing all the facts, stated it would be appropriate to dispense with the public bidding requirements in this case. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Rafael that the public bid requirements in this case are hereby waived and staff is authorized to purchase a refurbished water truck and used street sweeper from Ricker Machinery Company for a total cost of $135,006.30. I, JEANNE. M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 19th day of April, 1993, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Boro NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCELMEM 3ERS: Cohen Q JE M.
