HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 8931 (Boyd-Falkirk Improvement Trust Fund)RESOLUTION NO. 8931 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL ESTABLISHING A FUND TO BE KNOWN AS THE BOYD/FALKIRK CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND FOR PRIVATE DONATIONS, GRANTS, AND OTHER MONIES CONTRIBUTED TO THE BOYD/FALKIRK CAPITAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN WHEREAS, Falkirk Cultural Center and Boyd Gate House are National Historic Places owned by the City of San Rafael, as well as architectural and cultural treasures valued by the community; and WHEREAS, a citizens group has organized a fundraising committee to preserve and protect these community treasures by raising funds to repair and preserve these buildings; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to encourage private community fundraising by establishing a trust fund for the purpose of repairing and preserving both Boyd Gate House and Falkirk Cultural Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby establishes a trust fund to be known as the Boyd/Falkirk Capital Improvement Trust Fund for the exclusive purpose of repairing, preserving, and renovating Boyd Gate House and Falkirk Cultural Center, said fund to consist of private donations, grants, and other monies allocated for said purpose. Monies from the Boyd/Falkirk Capital Improvement Trust Fund will be appropriated for the current fundraising campaign for capital projects for Boyd Gate House and Falkirk Cultural Center by the City Council according to established fundraising campaign priorities as outlined in "Exhibit A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday the 7th day of Tune . 1993, by the following vote to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS : Breiner, Cohen, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Bor. It is intended that work on each component of phase lI (A, B, C, Q, E) will 6e authorized only when there are funds sufficient to complete the entire component. In the event of receipt of restricted funds sufficient to complete an entire component of lower priority, the order of priority may be changed, if technically feasible, based on the advice of an architect and City engineering staff.
