SABRINA T. OLSON
DISPATCHER, SAN RAFAEL POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, on October 19, 1992, Dispatcher Sabrina T. Olson was on duty
in the San Rafael Police Department Communications section when she
received a report of an armed robbery in a local convenience store; and
WHEREAS, Sabrina immediately took all necessary steps to direct San
Rafael Police units into the area and provide them with the accurate, timely
Information that is essential to successful police operations; and
WHEREAS, Sabrina continued to work closely with her dispatch partner,
relaying additional information to and from involved San Rafael Police and
allied agencies in a manner that assured the availability of the most current
information; and
WHEREAS, Sabrina continued to carry out her tasks and responsibilities in
a highly professional manner under increasing stress that reached its peak
when San Rafael Officers engaged the suspects in a gun battle in the east
bay. Sabrina's flawless performance was a major contribution to the overall
success of the department resulting in her selection as Civilian Employee of
the Year by the Marin County Peace Officer's Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of its grateful residents, employees and businesses,
and in acknowledgment of Sabrina T. Olson's exemplary conduct expresses
