RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING FOUNDATIONS TO
SUPPORT THE REHABILITATION, REPAIR, PAINTING AND ENDOWMENT OF
FALKIRK CULTURAL CENTER AND THE BOYD GATE HOUSE:
COWELL FOUNDATION, ANDY WARHOL FOUNDATION FOR THE VISUAL ARTS,
REX FOUNDATION, THE KRESGE FOUNDATION, FIREMEN'S FUND
FOUNDATION, J.L. SKAGGS & MARY C. SKAGGS FOUNDATION, MARIN
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, WINIFRED AND HARRY B. ALLEN FOUNDATION
AND THE ALLENSBY TRUST.
WHEREAS, the aforementioned foundations, government agencies and corporations
grant funding to organizations for restoration and capital building improvements; and
WHEREAS, completing the rehabilitation, repair and painting of Falkirk and Boyd
Gate House will provide protection for these National Historic Places and enhance and
preserve the aesthetic qualities of the mansions, therefore leading to an increase in the
generation of rental revenue; and
WHEREAS, Cultural Affairs staff wishes to apply to the aforementioned
organizations for support of the rehabilitation, repair and painting of both Historic Places.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby authorizes Cultural Affairs staff to apply to the aforementioned organizations
for grant support for programs and operations.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting
of the City Council of said City held on Monday the 2nd day of November, 1992 by the
following vote to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
