RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 8649 AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF
POLICE TO APPLY FOR A STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF
CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING (OCJP) CRIME PREVENTION GRANT.
WHEREAS, the State of California, Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) allocates funds for
various grant projects; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police requests authorization to apply for such grant funds meeting the
funding guidelines of OCJP; and
WHEREAS, the grant requested is to assist in the funding of a crime prevention program to
impact specific issues identified in the Canal Area of East San Rafael.
WHEREAS, it is agreed that any liability arising out of the performance of this grant award
agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant
recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP disclaim responsibility
for any such liability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to submit a grant
application to the State of California, Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) to fund a crime
prevention program specifically limited to the Canal area of East San Rafael, and is authorized
to execute on behalf of the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, the attached Grant
Award Agreement including any extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant
expenditures controlled by this body.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a meeting of the City Council of
said City held on Monday, the 16th day of November, 1992, by the following vote, to wit:
