RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING CLOSURE OF THE LIBRARY ON THE SATURDAYS AFTER
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR WHEN THOSE HOLIDAYS FALL ON FRIDAY
WHEREAS, The City of San Rafael operates the San Rafael Public
Library which provides a full range of library and information services to
the public; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Public Library is open to the public
Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10
a.m. - 5 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Public Library has traditionally been
closed on the Saturdays after Christmas and New Year when those two
holidays fall on Friday. This allows all the staff to take Saturday as their
regular day off during these holidays and gives them the same three day
holiday as other City employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael hereby authorize closure of the Library on Saturday when
Christmas and New Year fall on Friday.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a Regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
on Mondav the 21 st day of December , 1992, by the following
vote to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Cohen, Thayer & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS:' Shippey
