RESOLUTION NO. 8639
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF APPRECIATION
TO
THE MARIN CHILD CARE COUNCIL
WHEREAS, our hope for our future as a civilized nation rests
in how we promote the well-being of our children
and families; and
WHEREAS, every child has a right to receive unconditional.
love from his or her family, optimal nutrition,
housing, health care, and access to an education
that fosters learning and self discovery; and
WHEREAS, in partnership with parents, it is necessary that
there be a commitment of support from the community,
state, and nation to provide every child with these
benefits; and
WHEREAS, in order for the child to flourish, the family must
flourish. In order for the family to provide these
basic rights, it is often necessary that child care
be made available; and
WHEREAS, the Marin Child Care Council has recognized the
necessity of providing these basic rights and has
worked diligently to provide them to the children
of Marin County by making child care available to
those who need it.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council
does hereby proclaim the week of April. 6 to 10, 1992,
as THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD in the City of
San Rafael and urges the residents of our community
to join with the Marin Child Care Council in promoting
the basic rights of children throughout our nation.
