RESOLUTION NO. 8642
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
HENRY W. INGWERSEN
WHEREAS, Henry W. Ingwersen began his career with San Rafael in
September 1962 as a Police Dispatcher, becoming a Police
Officer in April 1963, a Sergeant in 1970, a Lieutenant
in 1974 and Captain in 1974; and
WHEREAS, after three years with the Marin County Sheriff's I'
Department as Under Sheriff, Hank returned to the City of !'
San Rafael as Police Chief in December of 1981; and
WHEREAS, Henry Ingwersen has worked throughout his career to bring
vision and the anticipation of the future to his role as
Chief and as a member of the City Management Team; and
WHEREAS, Henry established as his top priority the introduction'
of modern technology to police services and has introduced
state-of-the-art radio and computer systems into the
Police Department of San Rafael and was a leader in the fj
Statewide C -CAP Program; and r
WHEREAS, Hank has also served in many leadership roles in our1
Community as Chapter Chairman, Board Member, or Member
of the Red Cross, Marin Treatment Center, San Rafael
Chamber of Commerce, Marin Catholic Advisory Board,:
College of Marin Board, Salvation Army, Rotary, Lions,
Elks, Marvelous Marin Breakfast Club, Marin Forum, serving
with energy, enthusiasm and unstinting devotion.
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the undersigned current and former Mayors and
Councilmembers who have had the privilege to work with
Hank want to take this opportunity to express our
deepest appreciation and thanks to him for his loyalty and
sincere dedication and hard work on behalf of our entire
community.
