A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
IN SUPPORT OF COUNTY MEASURE A,
JUNE 2, 1992,
TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR ACQUISITION OF OPEN SPACE
AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS ON AGRICULTURAL LANDS
IN MARIN COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael finds that the County's
parks, wildlife open space and productive agricultural lands
are vital and necessary parts of our community; and
WHEREAS, permanent protection of the County's open space
and agricultural lands will increase the environmental quality
of life for the residents of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, such protection will contribute to the management
of growth in urban areas and the preservation of Marin's rural
agricultural economy; and
WHEREAS, the Marin County Board of Supervisors, in their
capacity as the Marin County Open Space District, has placed
Measure A on the June 1992 ballot to provide funding for
acquisition of open space and the conservation easements on
agricultural lands in Marin County; and
WHEREAS, Measure A is a four-year $25.00 annual parcel
tax.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Rafael supports the passage of Measure A.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held on Monday, the fourth day of
May, 1992, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
