A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE
USED CARS ON THE OPEN MARKET FOR POLICE UNDER-
COVER USE AT AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000
WHEREAS, five police undercover cars were scheduled for
replacement this fiscal year due to excessive mileage and/or age;
and
WHEREAS, specifications were drawn and bids solicited for
the purchase of said vehicles; and
WHEREAS, no legitimate bids were received; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 3.1 of the San Rafael City
Charter, provides that said vehicles may be purchased on the open
market if no bids are received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City
Council that staff is hereby authorized to purchase five used cars
on the open market in accordance with the bid specifications for
police undercover use for a total cost not to exceed $60,000.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on Mondav, the 3rd day of February ,
1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Cohen, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
