A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
REDESIGNATING THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
BUREAU OF THE MARIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AS LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, the County of Marin and its incorporated cities
are required by Chapter 2, Article 1, of the Public Resources Code
to redesignate a local enforcement agency to carry out the
provisions of the Public Resources Code, Chapter 2 and the
regulations adopted thereunder and under Section 43020, pertaining
to the minimum standards for solid waste handling and disposal for
the protection of air, water, and land from pollution and nuisance,
and for the protection of the public health; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Health Bureau of the Marin
County Department of Health and Human Services possesses the
required capabilities in environmental health and solid waste
management to carry out these provisions; and
WHEREAS, Marin County Environmental Health Bureau was
designated in 1977 as the Local Enforcement Agency; and
WHEREAS, the redesignation is subject to the approval by
a majority of the cities within the County which contain a majority
of the population of the incorporated areas of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Rafael approves the redesignation of the
Environmental Health Services Bureau of the Marin County Department
of Health and Human Services as the Local Enforcement Agency for
the County and all cities contained within the County.

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on MONDAY , the 20TH day of JULY ,
1992, by the following vote, to wit:
