A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL WITH REGARD TO FUNDING THE FREITAS
PARKWAY INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
UNDER THE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has applied and been recommended
for $1,239,000. in STP funding for the Freitas Parkway Interchange Project,
including lane widening, channelization, signalization and signing, at the
intersection of Freitas Parkway, Civic Center Drive, Redwood Highway and 101 Off
Ramp in the 1993 Transportation Improvement Program adopted by the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission and approved by the Federal Highway
Administration; and
WHEREAS, a prerequisite for inclusion in the 1993 TIP is the
adoption of a local resolution saying that;
• The project will be built as described above;
• $161,000 or 11.5% in local matching funds will be provided by
the City; and
• The City understands that the STP/CMAQ funding is
fixed at $1,239,000, and therefore any cost increases can not be
expected to be funded with STP/CMAQ funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
San Rafael by adopting this resolution of intent does hereby state that subject to
the adoption of a budget by the City Council:
• The project will be built as described above;
• $161,000 or 11.5% of total project costs (whichever is less), in
local matching funds will be provided by the City of San Rafael;

• The City of San Rafael understands that the STP/CMAQ funding is
fixed at $1,239,000, and therefore any cost increases can not be
expected to be funded with STP/CMAQ funds.

I, JEANNE. M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Tuesday, the 8th day of
September, 1992, by the following vote, to wit:
