RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DECLARING THE WEEK
OF OCTOBER 25-31, 1992 AS RED RIBBON
WEEK FOR DRUG-FREE YOUTH
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIN OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, the week of October 25-31, 1992 Is national Red Ribbon Week and the City of
San Rafael Is joining in this Campaign; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council asks that community members join in supporting the Red
Ribbon Week Campaign by wearing and displaying red ribbons to demonstrate their
commitment to a drug-free youth; and,
WHEREAS, the Red Ribbon symbolizes a commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle;
and,
WHEREAS, the goal of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible
commitment toward the creation of a drug-free America.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Rafael does
declare the week of October 25-31, 1992, Red Ribbon Week in the City of San Rafael.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council encourages all community members and
City employees "NO USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS AND NO ILLEGAL USE OF LEGAL DRUGS".
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held on Monday, 19th day of October, 1992, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Brei ner, Cohen, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
