RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION
OF CERTAIN FIRE DEPARTMENT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has limited storage space; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090, with limited
exceptions, authorizes the Head of a Department, with the approval
of the Legislative Body, by Resolution, and the written consent of
the City Attorney, to destroy any City record, document,
instrument, book, or paper under his charge without making a copy
thereof if the same is no longer required and more than two years
old.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fire Chief is
authorized to destroy fire logs and company run reports prior to
January 1, 1985, upon the written consent of the City Attorney.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of said City held on Monday, the 19th day of October, 1992,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Breiner, Cohen, Shippey, Thayer & P4ayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
