CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
CAPTAIN JEFF Mi
SAN RAFAEL 1990/91 VARSITY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS
WHEREAS, the San Rafael High School Varsity Football Team began their
season under new Head Coach Dave Wylie, finishing the regular
season with a 4-2-1 record and for the first time ever qualifying
for post season play in the North Coast Section IIA Redwood
Empire playoffs; and
WHEREAS, in the first round of championship play, the seventh seed
Bulldogs defeated the second seed Healdsburg Greyhounds and
entered the second round of play against the Eureka Loggers,
defeating them 22 to 0; and
WHEREAS, the Bulldogs entered the finals for the Northern California
Interscholastic Federation Championship against the Sonoma
Dragons, who had defeated the Bulldogs in pre -season play, and
the mighty Bulldogs defeated Sonoma 20 to 7 to become for the
first time in history of San Rafael High School the North Coast
Section IIA Redwood Empire Football Champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael hereby
commends the outstanding coaching staff and spirited players,
ten of whom were named to the Marin All League Team; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby pays tribute to the mighty
Bulldogs for bringing honor to the public education system of the
City of San Rafael.
