RESOLUTION NO. 8362
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF dPPRECIIITIGN
TO
JEAN FREITAS
1991 SAN RAFAEL CITY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Jean Freitas has served the City of San Rafael since March of 1981 and
has been promoted from Associate to Senior, and most recently,
Principal Planner, and
WHEREAS, Jean has made significant contributions to every major planning policy
initiative undertaken by the City of San Rafael during the last ten years
including the Northgate Plan, the Recreation Plan, the Peacock Gap
Neighborhood Plan, the Open Space Management Plan, the Shoreline
Master Plan, and the revised Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, Jean played a principal role, including managing the adoption process,
in the preparation of the General Plan 2000 which has been honored by
the American Planning Association as a significant contribution to the
planning profession; and
WHEREAS, Jean managed preparation of the San Rafael Housing Element, one of
only three Housing Elements in the Bay Area to be consistent with State
law and to be completed on time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby designate JEAN FREITAS as CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL 1991 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR and express
sincere appreciation to Jean for her dedication and outstanding service to
our community this first day of April, nineteen hundred and ninety one.
