CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION DF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
CAPTAIN MICHELE BROVELLI
SAN RAFAEL HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM - 1991
WHEREAS, the San Rafael High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team, under the direction of
Coach Mike Diaz and Assistant Coaches Lon Baldwin and Maureen McGrath,
became Northern California Champions of the California Interscholastic
Federation and advanced to the State Championship where they were awarded
second place, the highest achievement on record for any basketball team in San
Rafael High School history; and
WHEREAS, the team, with a record of 15-1, were Round Robin and Playoff Champions of the
Marin County Athletic League, took second place in the North Coast Section of
the California Interscholastic Federation, and finished the season with a record of
29 wins and only 6 losses; and
WHEREAS, of the eleven member team, two members made the Marin All League Team, three
members were selected as Honorable Mention, one member was named North
Bay Player of the Year and selected on the First Team All -Metro, one member
was named to the Second Team All -Metro and three members were awarded
Honorable Mention All -Metro.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael hereby commends the
team for bringing honor and credit to their school and their community through
their skill in competition; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael on behalf of all
its citizens hereby pays tribute to the San Rafael High School Girls Varsity
Basketball Team for their outstanding record.
