RESOLUTION NO. 8376
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING SATURDAY,
APRIL 27, 1991 AS
CELEBRATE THE CHILD FESTNAL DAY
WHEREAS, on April 27, 1991, Celebrate the Child Festival will be held at Marin Civic
Center, and;
WHEREAS. the Festival features an art exhibit showcasing Marin County School
children's art, fun filled games and exhibits for children, continuous music and
entertainment, and;
WHEREAS, the Festival will culminate in the running of the ducks in the First Annual
Great Rubber Duck Race, and;
WHEREAS, the event is hosted and coordinated by Marin Catholic College Preparatory
with the support of marry corporate and business sponsors, including Westamerica Bank,
Marin Mazda, Youth in Arts. Casa Marin, Travel Advisors of Marin, Embassy Suites Hotel,
American Airlines, Pepsi, The Mall at Northgate. Pardini's, Frank Howard Allen Realtors,
Ronkin Educational Group, and Creative Merchandisers, and;
WHEREAS, the event provides local Marin agencies such as Marin County schools and
the San Rafael Recreation Department Child Care Division with a unique fundraising
opportunity, and;
WHEREAS, the Festival promises to provide the community with a fun filled family
event, and;
NOW. THEREFORE BE 1T RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael,
California, does hereby congratulate Marin Catholic College Preparatory for the event
inception and coordination and does hereby declare April 27. 1991 Celebrate the Child Festival
Day.
