A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF UNALLO-
CATED RESERVES TO RELEVEL PICKLEWEED PARK
RECREATION CENTER NOT TO EXCEED $12,000
WHEREAS, Pickleweed Park Recreation Center was constructed on
bay mud; and
WHEREAS, the foundation system for said Center was designed to
accommodate differential settlement; and
WHEREAS, said Center must be releveled from time to time; and
WHEREAS, a recent survey conducted by City staff revealed that said
Center is approximately six inches out of level causing doors and windows to
improperly operate; and
WHEREAS, no maintenance funds have been budgeted due to the
sporadic nature of this maintenance work.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael hereby appropriates $12,000 from unallocated reserves to perform
the required releveling of the Pickleweed Park Recreation Center.

certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 17th day of
June, 1991, by the following vote, to wit:

We hereby submit specifications and estimates for:
1) Furnish labor and materials necessary to raise perimeter of structure in an area measuring
approximately 110 lineal feet, where no screw jacks exist (front left area).
2) Adjust remainder of building and decks, which is shown to be on existing screw jacks.
3) Leveling goal is ± 1/2" (structure now shows to be approximately 6" out of level).
4) Complete the above project in approximately 8 working days,.
5) We cannot be responsible for any cracking in the structure to include foundation, plaster,
brick veneer, walls, glass, etc., and doors and windows not working properly. However,
extreme caution will be used jacking in order to prevent or minimize any damage. The
cost of moving or relocating any utilities, pipes, or heater ducts if necessary, is not
included in this contract amount.
6) This work is meant only to restore floors to a more level position, and will in no way
address or prevent future foundation settlement from occurring.
7) Lump sum.....................................................................$ 11,698.00
8) EXCLUSIONS:
A) Permit and related fees.
B) Relocating, replacing or repairing of utilities, pipes, heater ducts etc.
