RESOLUTION NO. 8455
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOMITION OF ftPPRECIRTION
TO
COMMISSIONER BOB LWINGSTON
For Eight Years of Distinguished Service
On the Planning Commission
WHEREAS, on July 5, 1983, the City Council of the City of San Rafael appointed Bob Livingston to serve a four
year term on the Planning Commission of the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his conscientious work as a Commissioner, the City Council appointed Bob
Livingston to a second term on the Planning Commission on July 6,1987; and
WHEREAS, Bob Livingston diligently performed his duties as a Commissioner during his two terms and
represented the interests of City residents by using his architectural talents to insure that
projects were well designed and compatible with the "small town" character of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, during his eight years on the Planning Commission, Bob Livingston participated in the adoption
of many projects of great importance to the future development of the City of San Rafael,
including the City of San Rafael General Plan 2000 and the East San Rafael Neighborhood Plan;
and
WHEREAS, Bob Livingston served as Chair of the Commission in 1990 and performed this duty with great
courtesy and respect for the public and helped defuse hearings on controversial items through
his calm demeanor and evenhandedness; and
WHEREAS, Bob Livingston's term as a Commissioner expired on June 30, 1991 and he did not apply for
reappointment; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael wishes to acknowledge the conscientious manner in which Bob has
performed his duties as a Commissioner and to thank him for the many hours of public service
spent in behalf of the City .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, on the behalf of the residents of the City of San
Rafael, hereby expresses its appreciation to Bob Livingston for his outstanding service as a Planning
Commissioner and the contributions he has made during his two terms of office which will improve the quality of
life for the current and future residents of San Rafael.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at the regular meeting of the City of San Rafael City Council held on the
1st day of July, 1991.
