CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS

FOR FIVE YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
ON THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, on August 3,1987, the City Council of the City of San Rafael appointed Pete Pedersen to serve a four
year term on the Design Review Board of the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen diligently performed his duties as a Design Review Board member City by
encouraging improvement of the City's man-made environment by stimulating creative design and
preserving balance and harmony in neighborhoods and business areas; and
WHEREAS, during his four years on the Design Review Board, Pete Pedersen has given the City invaluable
guidance to the functioning, appearance and locations of buildings and landscape improvements so
as to maintain and enhance a balance between private prerogatives and the welfare of the
community; and
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen shared his extensive background in Landscape Architecture by guiding the Board to
reach a consensus on difficult Landscape design issues; and
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen's term as a Design Review Board member expired on June 30,1991, and he has decided
to pursue other interests; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the diligent manner in which Pete has performed his
duties and the many hours of public service spent in behalf of the City of San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council, on behalf of the residents of the City of
San Rafael, hereby expresses its appreciation to Pete Pedersen for his outstanding contribution in promoting
excellence in design for the City of San Rafael which will improve the quality of the lives of the current and future
residents of San Rafael.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at the regular meeting of the City of San Rafael City Council held on the 15
day of July, 1991.
