RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
TO
GIVE A HAND TO THE PLAN
HEREAS,

the "Give a Hand To The Plan" organization (a youth substance
abuse prevention program) was founded for the
p p g ) purpose of
communicating an anti-drug, alcohol and tobacco message to school
age youth through a unique educational and musical program; and
WHEREAS,
the goal of the "Give a Hand To The Plan" program is to expand the
t
multicultural youth substance abuse awareness and prevention work-
shops and performances to a Countywide level; and
WHEREAS, the young people who participate in the program workshops and
youth troupe performances gain self confidence and experience the
success that comes from public recognition; and
WHEREAS, the program has created hands-on involvement and advocacy oppor-
tunities for youth, by producing various public service announce-
ments, a series of educational talk shows and a music video for
television to inspire a drug-free lifestyle, Countywide.
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED, that the San Rafael City Council
recognizes and applauds the efforts of "Give a Hand to the Plan"
and encourages the citizens of San Rafael to attend the programs,
first anniversary reunion on August 29, 1991. The program will
kick-off its Celebrate Recovery campaign at the Downtown San
Rafael, Fourth Street Farmers Market to involve all of Marin
County in a cooperative effort to reduce substance abuse.
