RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF OPEN SPACE
FUNDS TO PURCHASE THE "CANALWAYS" PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael has determined that it
is in the public interest to acquire that piece of real property known as "Canalways'; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to enter into an agreement with the
County of Marin to purchase the "Canalways" property as "Tax Defaulted Property" in the
amount of $571,609; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to enter into an agreement with the
California Coastal Conservancy to receive a grant of $500,000 for the purchase of the
"Canalways Property"; and
WHEREAS, the "Canalways Property" is ranked in a high position in the
General Plan 2000 Open Space Acquisition List.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Rafael
that approximately $71,609 be allocated from the City's Open Space Acquisition Fund to be
utilized for the purpose of purchasing the "Canalways Property".
I, JEANNE. M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 6th day of August, 1990 by the
following vote, to wit:
