PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DF dPPRECIdTION
TO
JOHN BARROWS
WHEREAS, JOHN BARROWS has served as County Administrator since
1971, and as Assistant County Administrator for ten years
prior to that time; and
WHEREAS, John has administered the affairs of Marin County through
difficult times, including the fiscal impact of Proposition
13; and
WHEREAS, among his many accomplishments during his tenure, he
consolidated County health and welfare services into one
department; and
WHEREAS, one of John's priorities was disaster preparedness and
he has seen the County through floods, landslides and
the recent earthquake; and
WHEREAS, John has maintained a calm and professional demeanor and
maintained his sense of humor throughout these challenging
times; and
WHEREAS, John's working relationship with the City Managers of
Marin and the City of San Rafael has been consistently
cordial and cooperative, most recently helping lead the
project for a joint city/county library project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council
extends its sincere appreciation to John Barrows for his
many years of service to the County of Marin and extends
to him their best wishes for a happy retirement and success
in future endeavors.
