RESOLUTION NO. 8027
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOhOTION OF 11PPRECIdTION
TO
HENRY "BABE" GHILOTTI
C WHEREAS, HENRY "BABE" GHILOTTI has been named Marin Builders
Exchange 1989 Construction Industry Man of the Year;
and
WHEREAS, he was born in San Rafael, attended St. Raphaels•School,
graduated from San Rafael High School, and 'attended
{ College of Marin; and is a resident of San Rafael;
{ and after serving in the U.S. Army during W.W.II,
II BABE returned to Marin County and, in 1954, founded
Shamrock Materials; and
WHEREAS, BABE, along with Elmo Maggiora, established Maggiora
& Ghilotti, Inc. in 1964; and
{ WHEREAS, he has been active in community and professional organiza-
tions for many years, is the former treasurer of both
the Northern California Engineering Contractors Association
1 and the Engineering & Grading Contractors Association,
1 and was apprenticeship representative of the Operating
Engineers; and
t WHEREAS, BABE is being recognized for his community service,
for responsible representation of the construction
industry for over forty-one years, and to celebrate
the twenty-fifth anniversary of their firm.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council
does hereby congratulate BABE GHILOTTI on being selected
as a 1989 Construction Industry Man of the Year, and
expresses its appreciation for his dedication to San
Rafael.
