A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING STAFF TO WAIVE
COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING
PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael autho-
rized a Transportation Improvement Plan for the Northgate Activity
Center area in the City General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Traffic signal coordination equipment was a
part of that Transportation Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public health,
safety and welfare to provide compatible traffic signal preemption
equipment with the County of Marin; and
WHEREAS, the County of Marin has fulfilled the competitive
bid process for the purchase of said preemption equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best fiscal interest of the City
of San Rafael to purchase said preemption equipment from the vendor
supplying this equipment to the County of Marin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City
Council that staff is hereby authorized to waive the competitive
bidding process and to purchase three signal preemption units from
Traffic Control Devices, Inc. at a unit price of $2,175 per intersec-
tion.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
California, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City held on the 2nd day of October, 1989, by the
following vote, to wit:
