A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF PUBLIC BID PROCEDURE
AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO NEGOTIATE
PURCHASE OF SAID EQUIPMENT ON THE OPEN MARKET
WITH GENERAL COMMUNICATIONS/I. F. JOHNSON CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council authorized Bid Call for a radio
system for the San Rafael Police Department; and
WHEREAS, review of technical issues and development of recommendation
for a radio system with a configuration which would meet the long term needs
of the Police Department and the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, reviews, studies and tests of systems have been completed by
the General Services Department staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City council that the
following action be taken:
Waive Public Bid Procedure in the matter of acquisition of a proposed radio
system for the City of San Rafael Police Department. Authorize the Purchasing
Department to negotiate a purchase on the open market with General Communications/
I.F. Johnson Corporation, based on a not to exceed budgetary figure of $560,000.00
one time cost and $10,000.00 annual recurring operating cost.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the following resolution was duly and regulary introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on 6th day of November,
1989 by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
