RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL SEEKING FUNDING FROM SB 140 FUNDS FOR
ANDERSEN DRIVE AND TAMALPAIS AVENUE EXTENSIONS
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 140 stipulates that the Legislature
intends to appropriate $300,000,000 of State funds in fiscal year
1990-91 to be matched by local funds on a 50/50 basis for use on
a local road, a State highway or an exclusive public mass transit
guideway improvements project; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael, has two roadway projects
that may qualify under this Transportation Demonstration Program;
i.e., Andersen Drive and Tamalpais Avenue Extensions; and
WHEREAS, there is no guarantee that the legislature will
appropriate the requested funds; and
WHEREAS, the City's share contribution may be greater
than the fifty per cent match depending on the number of qualifying
projects; and
WHEREAS, this is, however, an opportunity for the City
to acquire partial funding for both the aforementioned projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby resolves to authorize staff to seek the necessary funding
and to designate the Director of Public Works as the authorized
signatory to apply for said funds.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
California, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City held on the 1st day of May, 1989, by the following
vote, to wit:
