HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 7787 (California Literacy Campaign)RESOLUTION 7787 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING STAFF TO APPLY FOR LIBRARY SERVICES CONSTRUCTION ACT GRANT, "CALIFORNIA LITERACY CAMPAIGN" WHEREAS, The California State Library administers and awards federal Library Services Construction Act (LSCA) funds; and WHEREAS, The California State Library is making LSCA funds available to local library jurisdictions to develop local volunteer adult literacy programs; and WHEREAS, San Rafael has a significant population of adult non-readers, and the Library has actively worked with the Marin County Library to provide and coordinante volunteer adult literacy services in San Rafael. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby authorizes staff to apply for and receive LSCA funds to enhance the existing volunteer literacy programs in San Rafael. I, JEANNE M.
